The Duomo of Milan

I'm sorry for my lack of posting lately, it seems ages since I wrote my last post... I really don't have the time to write or comment your blogs, but I'll get updated today for sure.

This week I was back from my week-end in Milan so I'll post a few pics about it.

Il Duomo di Milano

When we arrived to Vittorio Emanuele II, one of the most famous shopping streets - just next to the Duomo, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw an exhibition of photographs from my city, Madrid! It started the day I arrived there (16th of October) and will finish the 8th of November. Great coincidence and welcome, wasn't it? (I made some pics of the exhibition so I'll post them in another post).

Me @ Vittorio Emanuele II with one of the pics from Madrid pics exhibition - in the pic you can see one of the main streets in Madrid (for me the main one, Gran Vía) where it meets Calle Alcalá.

The Duomo of Milan is one of the most famous buildings in Europe. It is also one of the largest Gothic cathedrals and one of the largest Catholic cathedrals in the world. I think it's definitely the most impressive thing you'll see in Milan. I've always said Milan is not a particular beautiful city (I just started to appreciate and love its particular atmosphere. If you want to visit Italy, you'd better go to Rome, Venice, Florence before), but it's worth it to go there just to see it.

In my previous visits to Milan, I saw the exterior and interior of the Duomo, but I had never been in the roof before. You can walk up the stairs to go there or take an elevator (and pay just a little higher price) and appreciate the beautiful views and architecture from there.

Even if you are not Catholic... I think it would be an unique and spiritual experience. It was an amazing one for me. :-)

Thanks again for your comments, thanks to my new followers and coming here even if I didn't manage to read your blogs this days.
