Me encanta descubrir sitios con encanto por casualidad, sitios que recuerdas después de visitar ciudades especiales. Los recuerdas porque notas en su delicada dependienta (dueña también en este caso) una autenticidad, coherencia en lo que hace y alma. Si vas a Lisboa y quieres ir de compras o simplemente ver alguna tienda de ropa bonita, sin duda visita Véronique.

Me gustó tanto que hace poco escribí a su propietaria, Véronique, para que me contara algunas cosas... creo que en la pequeña entrevista se puede apreciar un poco lo especial que es.
Sin duda cuando vuelva a Lisboa (porque volveré... es maravillosa) me pasaré de nuevo por allí!

I love discovering new cute places by chance. Places that you remember after visiting special cities. You remember them because you notice the person that works there have that authenticity, you know... that special soul.

If you visit Lisbon and want to go shopping, just take a look at this one. 
I loved it so that some days ago I wrote Véronique to know more about her and her boutique...
There's no doubt I'll go there when I'll visit Lisbon again (and it's sure we'll be back to that absolutely lovely city!).

- Hola, Veronique. Eres una francesa en Lisboa... dines un poco sobre tí y sobre cómo has terminado abriendo una tienda ahí.

Bien... nací en Francia, me mudé a Londres con 21 años y después trabajé para Prada y Marc Jacobs en Paris desde 2003 a 2010. 

Después estudié un máster de Fashion Marketing en París. Siempre había querido abrir mi propia tienda, y pensé que el mercado británico y francés estaban ya muy saturados. 

Mis padres son originarios de Las Azores, así que pensé que era buena idea volver a mis raíces, ya que amo Lisboa.

En términos de moda, no hay mucho, muchas cadenas que se encuentran en todo el mundo, y muy pocas alternativas buenas.

- Hi, Veronique. You're a French in Lisbon... tell us a little bit about yourself and how did you finished opening a shop there. 

Well I was born in France, and left to London at the age of 21, and then went to work for PRADA and MARC JACOBS in Paris from 2003 till 2010.

Then i did one extra year of studies and passed my Master in Fashion Marketing in Paris.

I really wanted to open my own boutique for years, and I thought that the British and French markets were already saturated.

My parents are originary from the archipelago the Azores, and as well, I thought it would be a good thing to come back to my roots, and I loved Lisbon.

In terms of fashion, there's not much, a lot of chains that we find all over the world, and very few nice alternatives.

- ¿Cómo describirías tu tienda a alguien que nunca ha estado?

Mi tienda es mi mundo. :)

Es un reflejo de cómo veo la moda. Recuerda lo antiguo para aprovechar el presente y tener un buen futuro. Es una mezcla de tres conceptos:

1. Las nuevas colecciones, marcas francesas, inglesas, italianas, portuguesas como See by Chloè, Paul and oe sister, Orla Kiely, Corpus Christi, Gris Neutre, Mimous...

2. Las prendas de nuevos diseñadores de anteriores colecciones: consigo encontrar Prada, Helmut Lang, YSL, Dolce and Gabbana... prendas que por supuesto tienen interesantes precios. 

3. Las prendas vintage desde los años 30 a los 90, que elijo a mano, así que están en buenas condiciones, tienen buenos tejidos y son originales.

La selección está hecha para una mujer de mente abierta, a la que no le gusta llevar lo mismo que lleva todo el mundo y que prefiere calidad a cantidad.

- How would you describe your shop? (to someone that doesn't know it).

My shop is my world :)

It's a real reflection of how I see fashion. Remember the old, to profit of the present and have a good future.

It's a mix of 3 concepts:

1. The new collections: French, English, Italian, Portuguese brands like SEE by CHLOE, PAUL and JOE sister, ORLA KIELY, CORPUS CHRISTI, GRIS NEUTRE, MIMOUS...

2. The new designers pieces from previous collections: I still manage to find PRADA, HELMUT LANG, YSL, DOLCE and GABBANA... pieces that are of course with interesting prices.

3. The vintage pieces from the 30's to the 90's, that I hand pick, so they are in good condition, nice fabrics and original.

The selection is for a woman who is an opened-mind, and likes not to wear the same as everybody, and who likes quality over quantity.

- Antes de trabajar en tu tienda, ¿trabajabas en moda también? ¿Quién es tu diseñador favorito y por qué?

Trabajé para Joseph, Prada y Marc Jacobs. Mis diseñadores favoritos son todavía para los que he trabajado porque si no me gustan no lo podría vender. Me gusta la visión detrás de la creación, son estilos fuertes, con un ojo por el detalle que hace toda la diferencia.

- Before working in your shop, did you work in fashion too? Who's your favourite designer and why?

I worked for Joseph, Prada and Marc Jacobs. 

My favorite designers are still the ones I worked for, because if I don't like it, I cannot sell it.

i like the vision behind the creation, these are strong styles, with an eye for the detail that does the all difference.

- ¿Cómo eliges las prendas para tu tienda?

Siempre voy a los showrooms y me pruebo cada prenda!!! Creo que es importante saber cómo te sientes con la ropa, cómo te sientan.

- How did you choose the clothes for your shop, usually? 

I always go to the showrooms, and I try every single piece!!! I think that it is important to know how the clothes feel, how they fit...

- ¿Tienes algún proyecto a corto plazo?

Voy a abrir la tienda online, para ampliar la clientela, aquí el mercado es muy pequeño y mucha gente es todavía cerrada a nuevos conceptos. A veces me siento triste de ver que prendas increíbles no son apreciadas.

- Do you have upcoming projects?

I am going to open the boutique online, to widen the clientele, here the market is quite small, and people are still quite hermetique to new concepts, and sometimes I feel sad to see amazing pieces not being valued.
